My wife and I stayed in the Acadia National Park area for 4 days, and this place was BY FAR the best restaurant we ate at the entire time we were in the area. Most of the seafood restaurants in Bar Harbor (and nearby towns) are overpriced tourist traps, with the same stale menus. Inbound (on the other hand) had a very fun menu with a variety of yummy seafood dishes you won’t find at the other restaurants - like a fish version of chicken pot pie. We ate at the outdoor terrace area, which had very nice views of the nearby woods - but the indoors looked very cute, too. This place is perfect for anyone who’s looking for a local taste of Maine, with great seafood that you won’t find at the tousty spots. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

This may have been my favorite restaurant in all of Maine during our trip. We stopped randomly on our drive back from the Schoodic Peninsula for dinner. The gluten free options were amazing. I had maple butter cornbread, fish and chips, and leek soup—all gluten free and savory. This place is a gem

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Ironbound: the warm and friendly atmosphere, the lovely, and casual outdoor area At the restaurant, the food is delicious- I had an incredible halibut dinner, marvelous desert -and the oysters are literally the best I’ve had. Oh and I am a new fan of their exceptional Old Fashioned whiskey cocktail. A really special place! Since that first meal, I have now stayed at the inn as well- the room, like the restaurant is warm, comfortable, stylish... wonderful mattress, lots of light and lovely trees out the windows. A private area on the deck is included with chairs to enjoy the view. There are lovely little touches and every amenity- Peet’s coffee with the coffee pot, great lighting, a mini fridge with local root beer and snacks, and lots of helpful printed info and maps of the area. This place is a gem :)

I adore this restaurant. This is definitely not your NY Times’ Hancock “seafood shack.” It’s in the former home of the ancienne best French restaurant in down east Maine - so it’s beautiful - and the food and wines are great. Food ranges from fried calamari and lobster Mac and cheese to much more sophisticated stuff, and it’s always delicious. Wines are affordable but good - eg I’m a wine snob and they serve my house Sancerre. The servers are extremely friendly, Leslie will go out of her way to get you a table even though the place is perpetually packed, and you will wind up talking to someone interesting or someone who was your cousin’s college roommate while you’re waiting. I go whenever possible.

Amazing food with wonderful staff and atmosphere right on Route 1. Dinner was so good we went back twice for more. The clam and fennel sausage gratin appetizer will be cherished a lifetime.

So glad that Ironbound has opened again for the 2025 season. We eat here regularly with family and friends throughout the summer and Fall. Indoors or outdoors the ambience is warm and welcoming. Cocktails are fabulous and meals are delicious. We especially like the fish tacos, mac and cheese, halibut, corn bread, and fried artichokes, but really it’s all good. Highly recommend!

Whether you’re local or staying in Bar Harbor, this restaurant is definitely worth visiting! We enjoyed the fish pie, halibut, and blueberry crustless cheesecake. Quality ingredients, thoughtful plating and very delicious. Service is excellent, too - Leslie and Danielle are great! Highly recommend visiting Ironbound.

Ironbound never disappointments. The food, the service, the fun, upbeat atmosphere always makes it truly feel like a night out. I had pan seared halibut, a salad, and scrumptious dessert. Can't wait to work my way through the entrees this summer!
